We are developing novel plasmonic sensors based on surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) inside a nanofluidic channel. Below are finite-difference-time-domain (FDTD) simulation results of gold nanodisk and silver nanohole. We found the gold nanodisk with diameter 180 nm gives a plasmonic resonance peak at ~730 nm. We are exploring both nanolithography- and non-lithography-based fabrication methods for making nanostructures.
